Memories
Karen Stracher Sister-Niece September 22, 2012

Everyone thinks I grew up with three borthers, but I really had four! When I was very young, Norman was a presence larger than life, exciting to be around, ALWAYS smiling. Anyone who knew norman was aware of his affliction of, "Perpetual Arrested Development," and as I became an adult, this made it easy to catch up with him, to be his friend, to be like a sister! We "hung out" in the 80's drinkin' and dancin', he WAS an amazing dancer. I couldn't keep my girlfriends away from him, so charismatic and handsome! I dare say he "dated" a few!
When Norman moved to Colorado it made every visit special to be with Brian AND Norman. The three of of us shared  experiences in Belize and Costa Rica that would bond us together forever!
Norman was an inspiration to everyone that knew him, but NOT in the ordinary sense, how could he be, he was an extaordianry man. I loved to brag on him and the many unbelievable

I was blessed with the experience of  spending much of the last 9 years with Norm.  A culmination of circumstances brought us together in the summer of 2003.  He was there for me during  the most difficult time of my life. Over the ensuing years we got to really know each other.  He helped me start a successful business.  I taught him to ski, climb, and mountain bike.  We had great battles on opposite sides of the chess board, and we gorged on all you can eat oysters at the chinese buffet.  He learned to love cats, and I learned to be more optimistic about life in general.  Those of us that really know Norm understand that "can't" was a word that he simply did not comprehend.  We had our differences at times, and we didn't always jump for joy at the presence of each other.  But we loved each other. We needed each other.  We shared alot of life.  I miss him!
